Aisling is a cosy, traditional former crofter’s cottage dating from around 1880, situated in the quiet, friendly hamlet of Harrapool on the outskirts of Broadford.
Sitting beside a quiet lane, away from the main road, in its own large garden, the cottage has plenty of original charm whilst offering all modern facilities.
There are views from the garden across Broadford Bay to the mountains of the mainland.
Sleeping up to four people the accommodation comprises: two first floor bedrooms, (one double & one twin) a warm modern shower room, a cosy lounge, a kitchen/dining room and a sunroom to make the most of the morning sunshine with space to keep boots & coats.
All bedlinen, towels, tea towels, heating and electricity are included in the price and Aisling is centrally heated throughout, keeping you snug and warm whatever the time of year. There is free WI-FI throughout the cottage.
There are walks from the door up onto the hills behind the cottage from which there are wonderful views of the bay, you can walk to the nearest beach in 10-15 minutes and there is another beautiful beach a short drive away.
Broadford is the second largest village on Skye and has a petrol station with a shop, doctor’s and hospital, a supermarket, chemist, post office, bank and various other shops and art galleries etc. There are also several restaurants, pubs and cafes where you can have a meal with a hotel/bar within walking distance of the cottage.
Aisling (pronounced ‘Ashling’) is well placed for you to be able to get a taste of the whole island during your stay, especially the spectacular Cuillin mountains, and for days out to the mainland - Plockton is well worth a visit and the famous Eilean Donan Castle is less than half an hour away.
Please bear in mind that the cottage has narrow stairs and sloping bedroom ceilings - this all adds to its charm but we would not like anyone to be unprepared and uncomfortable.
For these reasons we regret the cottage is probably not suitable for anyone with mobility issues or for very young children.
